Should you upgrade to LinkedIn Premium?
LinkedIn has gradually gutted their free version over the years.
So, should you upgrade to LinkedIn Premium?
I think so…at least while you are actively hunting for a new role. With 2 small caveats of course:
1) your budget permits ($29.99/month)
2) you understand how to take advantage of Premium’s benefits
As a very active user since 2007, I have watched the platform develop dramatically over the years…for better or for worse.
And the fact is, without a Premium account, LinkedIn severely limits your ability to take advantage of some of its most valuable features. There are some workarounds to these limitations, but if you have the budget, I believe that it is just way more convenient to invest in Premium.
Premium’s most valuable features in my opinion:
∙ See who’s viewed your profile
∙ Applicant Insights
∙ Unlimited profile searching
∙ Advanced search options
The Good News: LinkedIn offers a 1-month free trial so you can give Premium a test drive and cancel anytime if you’re just not seeing the ROI.
*This is not a paid ad. I just believe in the tremendous power of this platform. And that the free version is a shell of its former self. 😀
