4 Job Search Tips for Students & Recent Grads
As we approach another college graduation season, here are some pointers for the students in my network:
1) Secure hands-on experience in your desired field.
Could be internships, paid positions, volunteering, etc. These experiences will make you incredibly marketable and will differentiate you from your peers who only go to class.
2) Get involved on campus.
Participating in extracurricular activities provides invaluable networking opportunities, produces life-long friendships, and makes you a more marketable job seeker.
3) Work a part-time job.
Become exponentially more marketable by showing employers that you can balance school, extracurriculars, and work.
4) Update your resume and LinkedIn profile right now.
Do it on your own or work with someone like myself, but do it now and make sure that it properly markets your background. I’ll be here in August if you need me, but you’ll be 3+ months removed from graduation, losing your leverage and missing out on opportunities.
My clients who do all of the above typically land more interviews and have multiple job offers to choose from.
Good luck!
