What type of résumés do you specialize in?

With 3,000+ résumés under my belt, I have worked with clients from all sorts of industries and at all career levels. I have worked with industry lifers, C-level executives, recent college graduates, career changers, those experiencing ageism, and everything in between.

My client list includes (but is certainly not limited to) elected officials, Presidential appointees (H.W. Bush, W. Bush, Obama, Trump), C-level executives, community leaders, combat-tested military leaders, elite law enforcement personnel, etc. Basically, people with a huge presence on Google and Wikipedia.

How does this process work?

To get started, please purchase a service by going here.

After you place an order using any major credit card, PayPal, or Affirm, you will receive a “next steps” email (within 24 hours) that will contain a link to my calendar so you can schedule our 1-hour telephone consultation. First drafts are completed in 3-5 business days (5-7 business days for executive-level services) from our consultation (rush services are available for an additional fee). You will have the opportunity to review your documents and I will work with you on up to 2 rounds of edits. You will receive your résumé as both a Microsoft Word and PDF document.

How much do your services cost?

Besides consulting services and résumé format upgrades, investments typically range from $395-$1295 depending on the service(s) you are interested in and your career level. This is incredible value considering the expertise and quality of work that I bring to the table in addition to the time savings, stress reduction, and potential return on investment for you. For perspective, someone making $50,000 annually would recoup their entire investment in the résumé writing service between 3-5 days working in a new job.

My ultimate goal is to provide such a valuable and stress-free service that when we are done working together, you will feel that you underpaid.

I have been shopping around and see a large range of prices for résumé writing services. Why is that?

This is a great question! There is a large range of prices because literally anyone can call themself a resume writer, regardless of how qualified or unqualified they are. As you explore your options, I advise you to ask the following questions:

Is this writer certified by a professional resume writing and career coaching association? (I am!)
Does this writer have recruiting experience? Can they write my resume with the reader’s perspective in mind? Have they ever actually reviewed resumes, interviewed applicants, and hired staff? (I do! I have!; for 10+ years.)
Have I checked this writer’s reviews? What are other people saying about them? (Google “Reed Resumes” or take a look at the Recommendations at the bottom of my LinkedIn profile. Reed Resumes is widely considered to be one of the best resume writing services on Long Island with 125+ 5-star Google business reviews!)
Will this writer outsource the work to another writer or someone in another country even? (I will not; I work with my clients 100% of the way.)
Does this price make sense? Can I get a truly spectacular resume for just $50? $100? $175?

– At those prices, how much time can the writer truly devote to your work?

– As you search for a resume writer, you will absolutely come across lower cost services. There may even be writers out there who offer a faster turnaround time. At the $395-$1295 price point, I am able to deliver an incredible customer experience, value, and expertise while devoting an enormous amount of time, research, passion, and care to my clients and their documents.

Can't I just use ChatGPT/AI to write my resume?

You can, but ChatGPT is only as good as the information that you input. If you knew what information to plug into ChatGPT in order to produce a great resume, you probably wouldn’t be here right now. As the saying goes, “You don’t know what you don’t know!”

The robots are here and they are quite impressive, but as of this writing, ChatGPT cannot ask you the crucial follow up questions required to craft truly compelling career documents.

Additionally, recruiters are becoming increasingly frustrated with ChatGPT-generated resumes. They can identify them a mile away and I have heard many stories of recruiters receiving nearly identical or incredibly similar resumes from multiple candidates. My takeaway: over-reliance on ChatGPT is turning jobseekers into boring cogs lacking any unique identity. One upside is that in this current environment, a professionally written, ultra-customized resume should help you to stand out even more!

Update: as of May 2025, I am experiencing a dramatic uptick in clients who attempted to write their resume using AI but are struggling to land interviews and now realize the benefit of an ultra-customized, hands-on resume writing service.

Do you offer any guarantees?

I will work with you on your documents until you are 100% satisfied. I have a 99.9% satisfaction rate and 80%+ of my business comes from referrals and return customers. Therefore, it is important to me that you are happy!

I do not make any guarantees regarding interviews and job offers because there are a plethora of variables in play. You should be skeptical of any résumé writer who guarantees you interviews and job offers. Please see the terms and conditions below.

I've heard that my resume has to be one page. Is that true?

This is one of the biggest resume writing myths out there! Rather than focusing on page count, focus on telling your story as powerfully as possible. And if you can do that on one page without sacrificing quality content, that’s amazing. But most of my clients who are experienced professionals typically land between 1.25 and 2 full pages. And the vast majority of recruiters will tell you that’s perfectly fine! Conversely, most of my students and recent graduates typically land between 1 and 1.25 pages.
